Roles & permissions
NovaDocs has two layers: platform roles and project roles.
Platform roles
Set on the user account:
| Role | Access |
|---|---|
| OWNER | Full access to everything |
| ADMIN | Manage workspace, projects, settings |
| EDITOR | Edit content they can access |
| VIEWER | Read-only (default for new signups) |
Project members
On each project you can add members with:
| Role | Access |
|---|---|
| ADMIN | Manage that project |
| EDITOR | Edit articles in that project |
| VIEWER | View only |
Owners/admins of the workspace can see all projects. Regular members only see projects they belong to.
Practical setup
- Create the project
- Invite teammates as project members
- Keep OWNER for the main account only
